- Difficulty in visually recognising colleagues
- Finding computer screens, print, and handwritten documents difficult to read
- Experiencing eye fatigue or pain, and discomfort with bright lights
- Suffering from migraines, headaches, and overall tiredness
- Facing difficulties in dark or dim environments and with judging depth

Why and When Should You Commission a Visual Impairment Workplace Assessment?
A Visual Impairment Workplace Assessment should be conducted as soon as sight challenges are suspected or identified with a new starter or existing employee. Causes of sight loss can include illness (such as diabetes), infection, injury, or hereditary eye conditions. It’s advisable to update assessments every two years, or sooner if new barriers are identified.
As a responsible employer, complying with equality legislation by making reasonable adjustments is essential. This not only ensures legal compliance but also results in employees feeling supported and valued, which maximises their productivity and wellbeing at work.

Client Testimonials
Here’s what our clients say about our Visual Impairment Workplace Assessments…
HA – Assistant Manager at a Leading UK Bank…
“The assessor’s input was invaluable during my return to work journey. Their assessment was immensely thorough, and the expertise and knowledge proved to be very useful and resourceful to me personally and our business.
I encourage anyone supporting employees with visual impairments to contact Visualise as they provide a wealth of information and can help ensure that managers deliver the correct support to enable employees to retain and develop their roles. I now look forward to developing my career thanks to the recommendations, which have given me renewed confidence.”
Company Director…
“The assessor had already familiarised themselves with my condition, was incredibly knowledgeable about the benefits, support and services available to me and was refreshingly open about sharing their experiences of dealing with their sight loss journey.
They made several recommendations about how my employer could help me. The software and equipment have been ordered, and my sensory support social worker has referred me for mobility training on long cane use.”
Susie, Hampshire…
“The assessor was brilliant from start to finish. The most incredible thing was that they understood from the inside out the difficulties I was experiencing at work and proposed simple solutions to enable me to succeed.
They signposted me to a local charity that could guide me through the process, suggested assistive technology solutions that are real lifesavers, and recommended a support worker. Now, instead of working flat out to keep up, she takes the admin tasks from me so I can concentrate on performing my job more effectively.
I would thoroughly recommend Visualise because their commitment, understanding and meticulous attention to detail about my individual needs and bespoke solutions were second to none.”
George, Customer Service Adviser…
“From the get-go, your team made me feel comfortable, supported, and more than just another client. You truly went above and beyond to support me at a difficult time in my life, being new to sight loss.
I was anxious about having an assessment, but you put me at ease, and your consultant was very knowledgeable. Thank you for the adjustments you have recommended; they’ve made my working life so much easier!”
Additional Feedback…
“My optician said it was the most comprehensive report he’d seen.”
