Celebrating 10 Years of Visualise Training and Consultancy

We are celebrating a decade of incredible work dedication towards the cause at Visualise Training and Consultancy! It’s been a journey marked by resilience, transformation, and a relentless pursuit of breaking down barriers for those with visual impairments.

Dan’s journey began in the challenging halls of childhood, where he faced bullying and misunderstanding due to his undiagnosed retinitis pigmentosa. From the tender age of eight, Dan grappled with the reality of his condition, a progressive sight loss that would eventually lead to blindness. Despite the emotional toll and isolation, particularly during his teenage years, Dan’s story is one of profound resilience.

With the support of counselling and the Royal National College for the Blind, Dan turned his fears into a driving force for success.

By 23, he had not only launched his own business but also started educating others about visual impairment. This mission was fuelled by his desire to make a difference, to help others understand the challenges faced by those with visual impairments, and to foster a more inclusive world.

In 2014, Visualise Training and Consultancy was born, aimed at improving service provisions within organisations, making them more accessible and comfortable for blind and partially sighted customers. Through interactive training sessions, including the use of simulation spectacles and guiding techniques, Dan’s company has transformed countless organisations and touched many lives.

Reflecting on the past decade, we see a young boy from Bath who, despite walking into lampposts and enduring relentless bullying, grew into a business leader and an advocate for change. Dan’s mother, Shirley, always believed he would achieve great things, and today, we witness the realisation of that belief.

Dan’s story is a powerful reminder that adversity can indeed be a catalyst for greatness. As we celebrate 10 years of Visualise Training and Consultancy, we want to thank all of you who have supported the business along the way!

Dan says “I never thought i would be a director of my own business when i left school didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go. What is taught me is no matter who you are. You can achieve as long as you’ve got a positive mindset and ambition to succeed.. you just need to believe in yourself I would encourage anyone else out there thinking of setting up business to go for it. I maybe losing my sight but never losing my vision.”

We can turn darkness into entrepreneurship and adversity into achievement.
