Meetings, we all have them. Here is how to make them work for everyone in the room.
Tip 1. Send the agenda and slides before the meeting. Nobody has ever said I wish I had seen that later. Tip 2. Say who you are before you speak. It is not formal. It is just kind.
Tip 3. One voice at a time. Talking over each other is a sport nobody wins. Tip 4. Say what is on the slide. Not read it. Describe it. What does the chart actually show?
Tip 5. Switch the captions on. They help the person who is deaf. And the one who was on mute. Tip 6. Add a short break. Listening and looking are hard work.
Small changes. Big difference. A workplace assessment looks at the person, the job and the workplace.
Every team meets differently, and the right adjustments depend on the person, the job and the room.
